Staff Spotlight

Staff Spotlight: Meet Annette Williams, Accounts

We’d like to introduce you to another member of the Highstream team, Annette Williams, who looks after accounts.

Whether it’s a great cup of tea or the accounts statement from the last quarter, Annette can get it for you at the drop of a hat.

She’s been with us at Highstream since the early days, so we thought we’d sit down and ask her a few questions about her role…

1. Tell us about your role at Highstream?

I work in Accounts and make sure everything in the office is kept ticking over. I’ve been with Highstream since the early days, together we keep things running like a well-oiled machine!

2. What did you study at university/college?

I studied Business Information Technology and then went on to work in financial services before working at Highstream.

3. Where do you see Highstream being in the next five years?

The aim for Highstream has always been to deliver great service and advice to all our customers. We use our experienced technical team to provide enterprise level solutions on a tailored scale to small and medium businesses in a variety of sectors. In the next five years I see the business continuing to flourish and grow.

4. What’s the Highstream team like?

We’re a friendly team.  We all work hard towards making Highstream a success, fuelled by copious amounts of tea and biscuits (provided by a certain member of the team who shall remain nameless!)

5. Do you have any pets?

I do, a lovely cockapoo called Dora.

6. What job did you want to do when you were little?

My best friend and I wanted to own and run a sweet shop in Chester – It seemed like a good business idea at the time!

7. What was your first car?

A Ford Escort, named Goldie.

8. Where are you most likely to be found outside of work?

Usually ferrying my two daughters around – they have a better social life than me!

9. How do you take your brew?

Tea. Strong, not much milk – preferably Yorkshire.

10. What was your first job?

My first job was working for BT, calculating VAT refunds to business customers following the VAT increase from 15 to 17.5% (showing my age there!)
