With so much IT now able to be done remotely, it’s always good to find out more about the team you are working with. So, over the next few months we will introduce you to the Highstream team.
First up is Paul Williams, managing director at Highstream. Highly experienced in IT, Paul set up the business over seven years ago. He is responsible for its day-to-day operations and business growth. He is committed to leading the expanding business through a focus on great customer service.
Paul holds a BSc from the University of Wales in Information Technology and has over 20 years’ experience working in IT. For 10 years prior to setting up Highstream, he provided the IT support to a leading logistics company.
Biggest IT challenges facing business
Paul firmly believes that ‘business continuity’ is probably the biggest challenges facing companies today. He sees it as Highstream’s job to minimise risk and emphasise resilience within a business. As Paul says: “Good IT support should be reliable and basically fade into the background of a business.”
He continued: “We are committed to taking the time to understand what our customers need. We want to be able to offer the best and most effective solution to meet each customers individual needs. Off-the-peg solutions have limited value, but by offering a bespoke approach, we can offer real value for money and the highest level of IT support.
Aligning IT and business challenges
“I am really interested in seeing how closely our IT solutions can adhere to business challenges. Where IT can improve or transform business process, then it can ultimately provide more efficiency and competitive advantage.
“As a team, we are really very good at providing the right level of end-user support to folks with technology issues. We aim to integrate with our customers’ teams, providing them with visibility of technological risks and opportunities for business growth. In fact, our expertise and cost-conscious approach is usually more associated with internal IT departments of large organisations.”
Outside of work, Paul enjoys spending time with his family and various outdoor activities including running, hiking and walking.
